Taylor celebrated his birthday (Saturday) at the Mission Bay Yacht Club playing out on the deck as the tide came in. A nice turnout of friends helped with cake on the break and as the truck was being loaded Cap'n Dave brought his cruiser around and a few late-night specialists went aboard for a beautiful moonight cruise around the bay complete with a nightcap at the Barefoot Bar. Sunday at the Plank was equally fun with pickin', grinnin' and stories from the weekend that'll never make it onto these pages! Thanks to one and all for making it a great weekend.

Just home from a THB rehearsal session and I'm very excited about two new (to us) songs and the revival of a song off the Beauty In The Eye CD we've not done in at least two years. Looking forward to breaking them out at McP's on June 20!

Well, if you weren't at the Candye Kane benefit at the Casbah last night, you missed a very special night of incredible music! Great sets by Sara Petite, The Tornado Magnets and Years Around the Sun were topped by the inimitable Mojo Nixon joining Joey Harris & the Mentals for an over-the-top set of rock & roll. What a great reason to stay out late on a school night!

Legendary San Diego R&B singer Candye Kane has been battling cancer of the pancreas and needs the help of fans and friends to meet medical expenses. One of many benefits, this one has been put together by THB pal Joey Harris and will include The Truckee Brothers w/Steve Poltz, Sara Petite, The Tornado Magnets, Years Around The Sun and Joey Harris & The Mentals. Taylor will open the program with an acoustic set at 7:30 p.m. There is a $20 charge at the door, all of which will go to Ms. Kane. Details on calendar page.

On March 2, Taylor will be in Salem for his dad's 80th birthday and will be taking the opportunity to play an all-original, all-acoustic show while he's there! This will be the first time he's had the chance to play for the local friends and family and it promises to be a great time. The THB will be playing at Tio Leo's Napa St. location opening for and partying with Joey Harris & the Mentals in celebration of Joey's birthday! Friday, January 18th starting at 9 p.m. Come on out and be somebody!

With another weekend at Cheers! in Ramona in the books, the band is off for the Christmas holiday, and the next gig is December 28/29 at Don's in Lakeside/El Cajon. Sitting in for Gregg on the 28th will be none other than Boyd Gardiner, who lent his drumming talents to the THB for the year previous Gregg's arrival! This will be a happy reunion for the band and Boyd, and we hope lots of you who knew and loved Boyd will come out to Don's and say hello.

Taylor is now playing at the Chula Vista Brewery at 3rd and Naples in Chula Vista on Thursday nights from 9 to 1. Great pizza, pasta and bar food and a huge assortment of beer on tap plus a full bar and a ton of T.V.'s. Come on by and start your weekend early!

Once again, the Halloween party at Don's Cocktail Lounge was a beautiful thing! Lots of great costumes, Suzanne behind the bar, a buffet and good rockin' all night! The THB would like to thank Katie and Dave for putting such a great bash together and for making the band a part of it.

It seems like all too recently we all lived through this Southern California wildfire craziness and now it's happening again! Our thoughts and prayers go out to all our friends and family in Ramona, and all the others who are being forced to deal with the Witch and Harris burns. We hope everyone stays one step ahead and comes out no worse than dusty.

Yeah, we got some news for you! Taylor has been signed to Groove 33 Records and the THB will be back in the studio soon, hard at work on their first CD in two and a half years! This could mean bigger things for the band, and it certainly means there's more music coming your way. It's a big step in the right direction any way you slice it and it'll be nice to finally be able to have an answer to the "when are you coming out with another CD" question. Soon!

Well, happy August, everybody! Tim is back from vacation and Mike is getting ready to go on vacation and we've got a month to squeeze some gigs in. Details are on the callendar page, but briefly we'll, be at Cheers the 10th and 11th, McP's the 17th and Don's the 24th and 25th. Taylor has some solo shows thrown in there as well, so come on out and we'll see you when you get there!

This is the time of year when band members start going on vacation, so you'll notice that gigs are slowing down quite a bit for a little while. Also, the show at the Harley Davidson store that was originally scheduled for the 4th and rescheduled for the 18th of August has been scratched for that date as well. We'll keep you posted on progress towards finding an open date for that one.

The upcoming show at San Diego Harley Davidson has been rescheduled. Instead of appearing there August 4, the THB will be there on August 18. See calendar page for details.

Many thanks to Joey Harris for coming down to the Plank for an afternoon of music with Taylor! It was a great time, with Joey showing why he's considered one of the best guitarists anywhere! The guys had fun and might even want to do it again sometime, so if you missed it keep your eyes peeled here for notice of the next time these guys get together.

The band had a great run of shows in May, finishing off with an awesome night of music at the Belly Up Tavern! Many thanks to those who came out and supported local music. The guys also had a great first night at McP's Irish Pub on Coronado and will certainly be back there many times in the future. The fun continues in June, so check the calendar page to find out when and where.

So stay alert and catch the THB as many times as possible! There's no way you can need more coffee than the band, so let's not hear any whining. Just come out and have some fun. Check the calendar page for complete info.

At the request of Joey Harris, who was sufficiently impressed with the THB at Tio Leo's in March to put them on his "first call" list, the guys will be returning to the Belly Up to play with Joey's band The Mentals and Sara Petite. The show starts at 8 p.m. (we'll probably play first) and the cover is $8 in advance, $10 the day of the show. We need your support on this one, so mark your calendar for an evening of awesome music!

But the time has come to move on. Taylor won't be doing the solo shows on Wednesday night anymore, but would like to thank the staff at Don's for making him feel so welcome. It remains a favorite bar of the THB and a great place to see live local bands.
