It's always nice to read nice things about yourself, and I want to take a minute to thank those who have written revues of our music on the CDBaby.com pages. There have been some very good comments posted there and it gives me encouragement to keep going when I find a new reveiw has been posted. If you haven't read any of these reviews, go to the "BUY" page and click on any CD, it'll take you to the CDBaby page for that CD and you'll find reviews at the bottom of the page. Check it out and send it to someone you know who's never heard us.
And thank you...

The THB is heading into the basement for a while. Gotta sharpen some new tunes, brush up on some old tunes and learn a few new covers, but not to worry, (Patricia) the band will be back in action on November 24th at Don's in Lakeside/El Cajon. In the meantime, Taylor still plays at the Plank on Sunday afternoons.

October 31 will be the first ever Taylor Harvey Band Halloween party at Humphrey's! Wear a costume or don't, bring treats if you want, but the band will be serving up a ton of favorite songs for everyone tired of hearing the doorbell ring and the local kids asking for candy! It's been a while, so come down to Humphrey's Backstage Lounge and join the THB for a little grown-up party.
Countdown to GeezerFest!

September 14, 2006
September 23rd is a date you'll want to circle on your calendar. The THB will be hosting a jam featuring musicians from all over the country at Campland on the Bay in Pacific Beach. These are people who know each other from the Harmony Central discussion forums on the internet, and are now coming together from as far away as Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Idaho to meet, greet and play like there's no tomorrow! The music will start around 5 p.m. and if you've never been to Campland, the venue is ideal. Overlooking Mission Bay, this sundown jam promises to be a thing of beauty.
ready to rock?

September 12, 2006

TH set to go live on blacklightradio.com!
-
September 6, 2006
In the ever-burgeoning market of Internet Radio, BlacklightRadio.com is a forerunner and one of their show hosts, Kris K., has been impressed enough with the THB to include quite a few songs on his playlist and now has invited Taylor to co-host his show this coming Saturday night, September 9 from 7 - 10 p.m! Kris is a devotee of the lost art of radio and runs a very spontaneous show, playing anything and everything that pops into his head and is also a fan of Taylor's solo show. He told TH to bring his sense of humor and come to the studio, so it should be a lot of fun to see what these to guys come up with for a 3 hour show beyond the THB tunes they spin. Be sure to listen in and maybe even give the guys a call in the studio!
Cool Jam countdown!
-
September 4, 2006
The first Cool Jam ever is less than three weeks away, and you'll want to mark your calendar to be at Campland On The Bay in Pacific Beach on Sept. 23rd. Cool Jam is a gathering of friends from the Harmony Central website discussion forums. These folks all play guitar, many have recorded and sold their music for years and this is the first time an event has been organized to get them all together! The THB will host the jam and be joined on stage by guitarists from as nearby as L.A. and as far away as Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Colorado and Nevada! This should be a lot of fun, give some old THB songs a new sound and keep the boys in the band on their toes! Be sure to come out and be a part of history!
long overdue update!

September 2, 2006
Don't let the lack of news postings fool you, the guys have not been hibernating! They've been dialing in their new P.A. system and working up a couple new songs for you, too. Playing some acoustic dates and private parties, they've been out of the limelight a bit, but will return with a vengeance on Sept. 15 at Cheers, will host the first ever annual Cool Jam GeezerFest on the 23rd, will rock Humphrey's on the 26th and be back at Don's on the 29th. Come check 'em out soon!

On July 8 the THB will be sharing the bill with Alt/Country legends Whiskey Tango at Tio Leo's in Mira Mesa and on July 11 it's back to Humphrey's and the friendly confines of the Backstage Lounge! April 28, 2006
The guys are happy to be back in action and back at Humphrey's on Tuesday, May 2! If you haven't seen the band in a while there are new songs that you haven't heard yet, and TH will be pulling some acoustic numbers out of the archives as well. As always your support is appreciated, so come on out and enjoy the surroundings at one of San Diego's finest original music venues. Full info on the calendar page.
Some great new toys the guys want to share!
-
April 25, 2006
Yes, like all musicians the guys in the THB are always getting new toys to play with. Have you seen Gregg's cool blue drums yet? How about Mike's Fender Telecaster Bass? What's really new right now is Taylor's old Godin telecaster newly fitted with HOT P-90 pick-ups and Tim's brand spankin' new Vox AC30 amplifier! Come out to a show soon and share in the excitement!

April 7, 2006
The THB joined several hundred other Buddy Blue fans, friends and family in Harry Griffin Park in La Mesa today to remember Buddy Blue. There were many speakers, including his wife, Annie and longtime bandmate Jerry Raney, and there was laughter as well as tears as the stories were told. Perhaps the most poignant moment was Earl Thomas's stirring a capella rendition of "Out Of The Rain." Afterwards, many crowded into the Parkway Bar, the site of Buddy's last performance and a favorite bar of his, to share stories and laughs and lift a toast (or two) to a legendary music man. We in the THB are proud to have had an all-to-brief friendship with Buddy, and wish all the best in the future for his wife and child.

A sad day in san Diego music history -

April 2, 2006
At about 11:00 this morning, Farmers/Beat Farmers guitarist and vocalist Buddy Blue died of a sudden heart attack. The news came as a shock to the San Diego community and there are many sad Farmers friends and family today. The Taylor Harvey Band family sends our deepest sympathies to Annie and the entire Farmers band and family. Buddy left a musical legacy with his playing, singing and writing that will never be duplicated or forgotten. R.I.P. Buddy Blue.

March 29, 2006
Tim and Taylor had the honor of sitting in with Buddy Blue and Jerry Raney of The Farmers Saturday night at the Parkway Bar, and a great time was certainly had. Buddy and Jerry had the place SRO with their faithful fans and Tim & Taylor performed White Trash Blues and a few other choice THB tunes on acoustic guitars to an enthusiastic audience. We highly recommend you get out and see The Farmers whenever you can. Link info is on the Link page.

March 16, 2006
The guys were all set to unveil some brand new songs at Humphrey's, but due to circumstances beyond their control the March 30th show there has been moved back to May 2nd. On the bright side, the band will certainly be dialed in on lots of great new music for your dancing pleasure by that time. Please stay tuned to the Calendar page for all the THB gigs around town.
exciting website changes!
-
March 14, 2006
If you haven't been around here in a while, we've made some changes that are very nice and worth checking out! First of all, check out the logo at the top of the page! It's clearer, sharper and much easier to read. Also redone is the Music page. The layout is now much easier to read and in addition to lo-fi clips there are now hi-fi downloads for you computer or iPod! Thanks to Angela for getting all these changes together and keep your eyes out for more in the future.
what a great weekend at don's!

March 2, 2006
The THB would like to thank all our regulars and all the locals, plus a great bar staff for a tremendous weekend! Both nights kicked ass thanks to a few birthdays (you go, Terri) and some great dancers. We can't wait to get back out there and we hope you'll come out and see what all the fuss is about! Check the calendar page for the next Don's Cocktail Lounge gigs.
Back out to Don's Lounge for the weekend!
-
February 23, 2006
Yep! It's back out to Don's Cocktail Lounge for a weekend of revelry at our favorite roadhouse. You know, I kid that this place has the smallest men's room in San Diego County, but I was at Bully's La Jolla recently and it might come down to a measurement! Come party with us anyway! Check the calendar page for more info.

February 12, 2006
Ladies and gentlemen, it is officially Plank season! As many of you know, Taylor has been playing solo at the Plank (with a variety of musical accomplices) for many years now, and today was a perfect example of the reason why! A crowded patio right by the beach, a great bartender (Eric) keeping the afternoon lubricated, a wonderfully unpretentious local crowd and at the center of it all a guy with a guitar and enough surviving brain cells to keep everybody partying in the same direction. You should make an effort to come down and be part of an afternoon at Ye Old Plank Inn in Imperial Beach. It's a party you won't soon forget! For details, see the calendar page.
