If you haven't come out to see us lately, we've got some suprises for you. We're doing some great new songs, both original and cover, that you need to hear. February and March the band is playing in Solana Beach, Lakeside/El Cajon, Coronado, Ramona and Shelter Island, so it stands to reason that one of those locations is close enough to give you the opportunity to come on out and give a listen. We look forward to seeing you at a dive near you soon!

Friday, February 3 the THB shared the stage with The Farmers and a new band to the circle of friends, Whiskey Tango. Whiskey Tango is a great alt/country band that took the stage first and started things rolling with their brand of home-brewed country, then the THB ripped through a rockin' set to warm up the stage for The Farmers. It was a night of kick ass music and if you were there, you know it was a great show all around. We look forward to working with both The Farmers and Whiskey Tango again!

That's right, on Jan. 31 the THB will grace the Backstage Lounge all night, from 8 to midnight, with their sets you know and love and a few new songs, too. Then on Feb. 3 the band will open for The Farmers with a hot set from 9:30 - 10:15. If you haven't seen The Farmers yet, we urge you to come and see what they're all about. It'll be a great night of hot rock & roll!

That's right, our beloved guitar picker Tim Edwards has a birthday coming up this Friday, Jan. 20 and the band will be celebrating with some rock & roll at the Surf-n-Saddle in Solana Beach. Come on out and wish Tim a happy birthday and have a drink or two.

Bill and Jan Wang are off to Florida and the date for their fare-thee-well bash is set. I hope that many of you who may stop by and read this have been fortunate enough to meet the Wang's. They are truly awesome people who have supported local music ardently (TH and the band included) for many years. Their legendary "Live At The Wang's" house concert series hosted a long line-up of San Diego and not-so San Diego artists, treated them well and made it a memorable night for everyone. Bill and Jan will be missed, but now there's another reason to go to the Florida Keys. Good luck and much love from the THB to the Wang's.

What a weekend for the THB! Thursday night we got our first shot at the venerable Belly Up Tavern opening for The Farmers and The Blasters and we made a great showing! Everyone liked us and we started what I'm sure will be a good and long-lasting ralationship with the BUT. Friday night we started the New Year's weekend at Don's Cocktail Lounge in Lakeside, one of our favorite places, and had an awesome night with Troy and Don from the Little Efert band dropping in to lend some enthusiasm. Now we're set for a kick ass show tonight to usher in the new year with great rock n roll and greater friends. So here's to all our loyal supporters - let's keep this sucker rollin' into the new year! Thanks for your friendship and we look forward to seeing you all in 2006!

Thursday night will be our first show at The Belly Up Tavern, and we're really looking forward to this one! We've all been to many shows at the Belly Up, but this is our first time all together in the same band and we're excited about it! Then Friday and Saturday night at Don's Cocktail Lounge in Lakeside promises to be a memorable party as well. How much fun can one band have? Come on out and see for yourself!

Big news for the band! Today the THB confirmed the opening slot for local legends The Farmers with Americana pioneers The Blasters to headline the show on Thursday, December 29. Showtime is 8:00 p.m. and tickets are available at the Belly Up box office or on their website at www.bellyup.com. This promises to be a powerful set, so come up to Solana Beach and cheer on your favorite dive bar band as they take a BIG step up the local ladder.

You just never know who's gonna come strolling in! Saturday night at Molly Malone's the band was joined onstage by the incredible guitar slinger Mike Broward. Mike stayed all night, throwing awesome guitar licks back and forth with Tim. The lovely local, Sarah, joined in with her harmonicas for a while as well. What a treat it was!

The deal is done, everyone! The THB will be rockin' in the New Year at Don's Cocktail Lounge! Drink specials, food and a Masquerade Ball will be highlights as well. The incredible Terri will be behind the bar and the party will go until we all fall down! Hey, you gotta be somewhere, right? Come on out and do it up right!

The Dive Tour '05 shirts are here and available at any gig for a measly ten bucks! These heavy duty cotton T's are black with the band logo on the front and some of the bars the band plays on the back. You could pay more for a great shirt, but why? I was pleasantly suprised by the attendance of my good friend Rob Mehl, fresh back from Hawaii and the recording of his new CD "Could You Be More Pacific." For those of you who don't know about Rob, he's an absolutely absorbing story teller and his songs are filled with a gentle humor and spirituality that are lively and comforting at the same time. Responding well to being thrown into the fire, new drummer Gregg Henning kicked some major ass at the Surf n Saddle in Solana Beach Friday night, then did the boys proud at Humphrey's on Saturday opening up for The Farmers. The band had a standing room only crowd dancing and the party went on as the headliners took the stage. Welcome to the band, Gregg.

Nothing could have happened to make the time we had in Phoenix at the home of Jeanne and John Combo any better! Mike and I were treated like VIP's in a home that we mistook for a small luxury hotel as we pulled up. Performing poolside with a panoramic view of the Phoenix lights behind me, 70 appreciative guests in front of me and the chance to play two and a half hours of original songs was one of the best times I've ever had! Our hosts were attentive to our every need and we had great food, sumptuous accomodations and drinks all around. My undying thanks go out to the Combos for inviting me to open the Fall Series of shows at their beautiful home.

Drummer and friend to all Boyd Gardiner has moved on from the THB and been replaced by Gregg Henning. During his year with the band, Boyd recorded the drum tracks for the Beauty In The Eye CD, was a great personality on stage and great friend to all. Best of luck to Boyd and welcome, Gregg! The guys have been invited to open for legendary San Diego band The Farmers (formerly The Beat Farmers) on Saturday, October 1. We hope you can come and check out what promises to be a rock solid night! The THB takes the stage from 9:30 - 10:15.

The band is getting their first opportunity at Hooley's Irish Pub in Rancho San Diego on September 9 and would love for ya'll to come out and support them. This would be a nice addition to the regular list. Check the calendar page for details.

The band is happy to return once again to Humphrey's Backstage Lounge on September 13, this time to celebrate Boyd's birthday! Nobody is saying how old he is, but there's no telling what might ensue on such an occasion. Mark your calendar and stop by to help the guys party!

Taylor has been invited to perform an evening of solo acoustic music in this year's schedule of Canyon House Concerts in Phoenix on September 24. This is quite an honor, as hosts Jeanne and John Combo attract a roster of incredibly talented artists. I had breakfast this morning with pal Gary Seiler to catch up after his return from a tour of the southern states in April & May.
