THB is on the air!! - May 9, 2005

Thanks to the efforts of two friends from Harmony Central's Open Jam internet forum, the THB is getting radio play on KMOD radio in Tulsa, Oklahoma! Requests are starting to come in and another station there may be picking the band up as well. The boys are on a roll!

Humphrey's show a huge success! - April 25, 2005

Many thanks to those of you who packed the room at Humphrey's Backstage Lounge for the THB last Friday night. It was fun to have so many good people all in the same place at the same time and the band had a great time. Ripping through two sets of original songs, they made quite an impression and got invited back on Monday, May 23rd for a four hour show. Be sure to check the photo page for some shots of Friday's show courtesy of On Stage Photography. Thanks again to all the THB friends!

Two great CDs to check out - April 23, 2005

Gary Seiler has just released his new CD, "He's Finally Living" and he should be thrilled with this effort. The songs are great and the music is a wonderful blend of country, rock and tropical. In addition, the incredible Joe Rathburn has just hit the streets with a live, 2 CD set called "Live at Dark Thirty." This is Joe's best work yet, and it couldn't have been easy to improve on his last CD. The songs are all beautifully crafted with Joe's wit and wisdom and the guitar playing efforts of Joe and sideman Dave Beldock are something you wouldn't believe if I told you, so you'll just have to listen. Links to both of these guys' websites are on the THB links page; please check them out.

thb supports u.s. troops - April 18, 2005

With the help of THB friend U.S.N. Sr. Chief Chris Gothro, 200 THB CDs are winging their way to U.S. troops in Iraq. Our friends and family members are far away putting their lives in harm's way, and the least we can do is send a little home grown music to boost morale. Many thanks to Chris for his help and best wishes from the THB to our troops overseas.

just a break in the action - April 12, 2005

The THB is off this coming weekend to catch up and recharge, but the weekend of the 22nd is very big and we hope you'll join us on Friday, April 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Humphrey's Backstage Lounge! It's a big deal to be asked to play there and we need your support. There are other gigs that weekend, too, so check the calendar page to be filled in.

this just in - April 9, 2005

Because of an unexpected turn of events, the THB will be playing tonight at the Surf N Saddle in Solana Beach! On the SW corner of the PCH and Lomas Sante Fe, this is a very happening place with full bar and great local flavor. The new CD will be available and we'll be getting warmed up for the Plank show tomorrow!

it's been a busy day! - April 6, 2005

My great friend Gary Seiler just announced on his website (www.garyseiler.com) that his new CD, "He's Finally Living" will be released April 21! I've know Gary for a long time and I'm very excited for him that he finally got this done. I hope you will go to his website and check out this very talented friend.

the call just came! - April 6, 2005

Dave from Disc Services just informed me that the new CD ships from L.A. today and will be at Casa de THB tomorrow afternoon! Availability will be immediate, so come see the band or Taylor solo to pick up your copy. You can also make Email contact from this site to order.

THB will be back at the Plank April 10! - April 5, 2005

Last Sunday was so much fun that Big Al asked us back this coming weekend! With any luck at all the new CD will be available and you can hear some of the new songs live and kickin'. We're really having fun playing together now and you should come out and enjoy the sunshine and good times.

It's a done deal! - March 25, 2005

After two very long nights at Langdon Productions the master discs for "Beauty In The Eye" are in the capable hands of Dave Stanger at Disc Services. This is the third CD that Dave has handled for the THB, and he promises delivery in time for the April 8 gig at KC's! Look for clips from some new songs here very soon!

New CD very close now! - March 19, 2005

Taylor and Steve will be neck deep in the new CD Wednesday night finishing up a few quick odds and ends and mastering. Allow two weeks for duplication and "Beauty In The Eye" will be available at the KC's gig on April 8! Stop by and pick up your copy and be sure to get the guys to sign it for posterity.

Whew! What a ride! - March 14, 2005

After 5 shows in four days, today is all about rest, unloading the truck, restringing guitars and recharging! The Autism Walk in Balboa Park Sunday morning was a great success. The band had a good time playing for an appreciative crowd (no thanks to a certain park rangerette!) and Juan Leon and his staff at NFAR did a great job running the event. Then it was due south for another foot-stomper at the Plank in Imperial Beach. Next up: St. Patty's weekend at Molly Malone's!

Studio Notes - March 1, 2005

Taylor was in the studio tonight putting the lead vocal tracks down, and tomorrow Tim will finish up his lead guitar parts. Then it's editing, mix-down and master. The band is right on schedule and getting very excited!

The end of an era - February 21, 2005

Famed author Hunter S. Thompson ended his legendary life yesterday. He will go down in history as one of the most influential writers of his generation and will be greatly missed. R.I.P., H.S.T.

The Coolest Thing Happened Tonight! - February 9, 2005

I was lounging between sets at McP's and up to my table walks Joe Rathburn. As you may know, Joe is an absolutely incredible singer/songwriter and has been nominated in years past for SDMA awards. Joe told me that he has a Live Two-CD set due out around the end of this month. For more information on Joe and his music, see the Links page..

Great THB Review in San Diego Troubadour - January 25, 2005

"If this were a car, we'd be talking about a slightly forward-tilting '72 Pontiac GTO with slicks and flames on the side. And these are the guys leaning on its side, talking to chicks in the parking lot. Steve Langdon's able production got the machine tuned, the boys tight, and the chrome polished. It's a soundtrack to a fun little spin during the summer. Turn it up, rev it up, come on over..."
